The fabric is by default organic, as the farmers do not use any pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. It is a purely rain-fed crop that has a high tolerance for both disease and pests. Cream-colored leaf and flower butuas are hand block printed using natural colors made by the local artisans of Kachchh. *Slight irregularities are inherent and speak to the hand processes involved. *Handwoven refers to the fabric woven on a handloom in India.
